Mayor Pete is Actually Terrible
For the first few months of his campaign, Pete Buttigieg carefully avoided saying anything of consequence about any subject. The main thing that his campaign was selling was a vague sense of feeling good and everyone getting along.
Buttigieg is still largely running as that type of head-in-the-sand candidate. Buttigieg frequently talks about bipartisanship and how divisive American politics is. Recent history shows that this type of message appeals to the Democratic electorate, but us detrimental to actual governing.
