The Saga of Bowe Bergdahl
Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl was fascinated by moral philosophy in his teens. He read religious moral philosophers Thomas Aquinas and State Augustine. He later became a Buddhist. Bergdahl was interested in going to foreign places, exploring the world. He traveled to Paris, France to attempt to join the French Foreign Legion, but was rejected after failing to learn French. He later traveled to Uganda on his own initiative to teach villagers targeted by the Lord’s Resistance Army “self defense techniques”. After returning home, Bergdahl joined the Army.
